Attraction Approach - Lesson 2 Worksheet

This week, I'd like you to answer the following questions.

After you answer the questions, click HERE for this week's checklist.

Principle # 1 - Become Incredibly Selfish:

1. List one to five examples of something selfish you'd love to do, even if you aren't ready to actually do it yet. (Examples: Take a sabbatical from work and take a long road trip to the Grand Canyon. Sign up for a weekly cooking class and ask your spouse to watch the kids while you're there. Get weekly massages. Buy a painting you love and hang it in your bedroom. Rewrite your job description and let your boss know which parts of your job you actually like; try to outsource the rest.)

2. What or whom would you like to say "no" to in your life? (Examples: Say "no" to your boss when he asks you to work late. Say "no" to your friends if they call you when you're relaxing at night. Say "no" to a volunteer group if you don't enjoy the work. Say "no" to sleepless nights by removing the TV from the bedroom, so your spouse can't watch late night talk shows.)

3. If you became "incredibly selfish," how would your life change for the better? What would your life and career look like if you mastered this principle?

4. Is this principle challenging for you? If so, why? It's important to identify any resistance you have to this principle. (Examples: You were raised by a martyr type parent. You don't have any positive "incredibly selfish" role models. You fear you might get fired if you start asking for what you need at work.)

5. This week, how can you practice this principle? What are you willing to do? Write it down here and then go for it! Small steps are OK!

Principle # 8 - Become Irresistibly Attractive to Yourself:

1. What changes in your life or career do you need to make in order to feel more attractive to yourself? (Examples: Get into great physical shape; increase energy. Stop gossiping. Face more fears and take risks. Stop letting coworkers dump extra work on you. Learn something new and develop a fun hobby.)

2. Describe your ideal self. What kind of work would you do? Where would you live? How would you spend your time? Jot down as many thoughts as possible here and continue to think about this question throughout the week.

3. What's one thing you could do this week to feel more "attractive" to yourself? Write it down and then do it! (Examples: Start a fitness program. Stop smoking. Start expressing feelings of gratitude more often. Change your hairstyle. Help someone in need.)

4. Over the next 30-90 days, what's one quality you'd like to develop within yourself? Outline your plan to do it and then go for it. (Examples: Overcome fear of public speaking by joining Toastmasters. Develop more inner peace by learning how to meditate or joining a yoga class. Become a better communicator with your spouse by attending a couples workshop.)

5. Is this principle challenging for you? If so, why? Look for any resistance you might have. (Examples: You don't want to seem like you're "full of yourself." You've always suffered from low self-esteem and find it hard to feel good about yourself. You think it's too much work and you don't want to try that hard.)

Congratulations on completing this worksheet! Make sure you save it in your notebook. Enjoy the rest of your week, too.
