Hello, I am Kristin Taliaferro and most of you know me as “KristinCoach”. 2010 marks the beginning of my 12th year as a full-time life and career coach. If you’ve ever wished for your very own personal coach, read on as I tell you about the most popular program I offer.
Something I regularly hear from clients is how life feels EASIER to them after coaching with me. They no longer feel stagnant and are usually thrilled with the concrete results and changes they’ve created. After feeling “stuck” for years around a particular goal or area of life, many of them are in awe of themselves and what they’ve been able to accomplish with ease.
The frequency of the “Life feels EASIER after coaching” notion really made me think and dissect exactly what I was doing to help them jump on an easier and less-frustrating path in life.
I don’t want to freak you out, but there are two forces inside of you directing your every move. One makes life EASY and the other will keep you STUCK.
The two forces? One is your HIGHER self and the other is your LOWER self. And, yes, we all have the dynamic duo living inside of us.
My work, as a coach, is to keep my client FOCUSED on their goals each week. Sounds really basic and straight-forward, right?
The key here is HOW I keep them focused.
Let me give you a quick overview of what it’s like to live from your HIGHER self versus your LOWER self.
When you’re living from your HIGHER self, you:
* live a balanced life
* take good care of yourself
* do work you love
* have harmonious relationships
* eat healthful foods that energize you
* have integrity
* feel deeply grateful
* feel centered and clear minded
* radiate an inner glow
* feel CONFIDENT
* have fun
* take consistent action to propel your life forward
* have goals that align with your values
Most importantly, you FEEL GOOD, which makes life seem easy…no matter what you’re facing.
When you’re living from your LOWER self, you:
* make fear-based decisions
* stay in a job you don’t like
* over-work until you are dog tired.
* allow people to cross boundaries
* neglect your body/fitness/self-care
* eat junky foods
* have un-focused or racing thoughts
* lack clarity
* worry a lot
* lack joyful or fun experiences
* feel stuck frequently
* easily attract problems or crisis
Can you see how living this way would make you feel CRUMMY or FRUSTRATED? That’s the recipe for a life that feels very HARD.
Sadly, the world we live in tends to direct our attention toward living a “lower self” life. That’s why I feel so strongly about my coaching program.
Let me give you a great example of someone from the 2009 Inner Circle Program and how “living from her HIGHER self” got her through one of the most challenging years of her life.
“I started the year knowing there would be lots of changes but not sure exactly what they’d be. My marriage wasn’t working, I had debt and felt scared and unsure. Nope, I’m not a fake-happy coach who denies the possibility of challenging events entering your life. It’s LIFE and it does happen. However, when I say that LIFE IS EASY, I really mean it. Pay careful attention to this next part, since it’s another part of my secret of success with clients…
How you FEEL internally determines how life feels to you.
If you feel crummy, overloaded, tired or frustrated….life will definitely feel HARD to you.
But, if you take excellent care of yourself, create balance, quiet your mind, eat healthfully, set goals that reflect your core values (the list goes on and on)....you’ll practically hear birds chirping as you go about your day. When you FEEL great, life BECOMES great.
In my program, I nudge my clients to put some core practices and principles into place so that living from their HIGHER self becomes automatic and accomplishing their goals is a natural result.

It’s a very structured and powerful program designed to guide you toward becoming your best self and accomplishing your most important goals. I expect a 70-80% level of participation from everyone and will keep track! Taking a week off now and again is fine and expected. It’s a privilege to support my clients with their goals every year. Most people begin with long lists of things they want to DO or HAVE. After taking action on those goals and accomplishing them, they ultimately feel most pleased with how they’ve blossomed along the way. In my program, you’ll DO a lot but you’ll also be encouraged to BECOME your best self. It’s the ideal balance, in my book.
Some of my favorite letters this year came from some very accomplished people who finally learned the value of adding more joy to their lives. Getting a lot done feels great and I’m all for it! But, sometimes a deeper level of fulfillment comes from simply enjoying your life more. Is this something you need to learn?
